Mighty Empires Campaign
Hey Battle Brothers!!
I have wanted to do a Mighty Empires warhammer campaign for quite a while and wanted to see who had interest. This would not interfere with any other games going on. I will bring the details this Friday 8/7 to our meeting. It you have interest, let me know. There will be a limit on the number of players and dedication is a must. But the campaign will not be that long and armies will be small. BATTLE!!! Nino

I'm all for it, From what we discussed it sounded like alot of fun, and for anyone who wants to play Warhammer Fantasy it's a great way to learn a new army!

I'm in as well. It will help a lot that the armies are smaller and the campaign isn't too long.

Re: Mighty Empires Campaign
Sounds like a great idea. Planetary Empires has been something I've wanted to do especially with the awesome planet strike rules having come out! In two weeks I built up 3k Guard points from nothing, but Warhammer sounds fun too... NOW I've gotta finish my Empire Army!!

Re: Mighty Empires Campaign
Hey Battle buddies!
I would like to try and at least get the ball rolling with this campaign. It will be simple. If you don't have the rules I can make a copy for you. There will also be some "House" rules, so pay attention!!
Points-1000 point armies. Your characters may only "start" with common magic items. As the campaign goes on, they will have the opportunity to gain other items
Wizards may only start a 1st level. Again, this can increase as the campaign continues
Vampires, Daemons, Dark Elves, Dwarf characters may take "one" power, gift, poison, ruin of no more than 25 points
For the most part, this is the army you will play. You may not change it. So a balanced force is advised. However, there are a couple of exceptions:
Your army can grow in size. So have up to 250 points of extra forces ready. No characters or magic items. Just Troops. Armies will not get any bigger than 1250 points. I will explain this clearer when we meet
In the events section, there is the option to create a "Elite Army". this is the only time you may play a different army than your orginal list. Again, when we meet, I can explain this better. BATTLE!! Nino

Re: Mighty Empires Campaign
Sounds good to me, I have 1000 points built easily and now have a good motivation to paint more.

Re: Mighty Empires Campaign
We had our first Mighty Empires meeting last night. And it was a great success! Scott's Orcs and Goblins fought to a draw against Gregs Bretonnia. While my Dark Elves got completely slaughtered by Sal's Black Coach, whoops I mean Vampire Counts. That Black Coach is scarey tough when it starts to fly, become etheral, get a magic resistance of 3, scythed wheels... AHHH!!!
So here is how it ended for the night:
Sal (Vampires)- earned 5 Empire points. Used them to take 2 tiles and build a mine on one of them by a river. Sal is in the lead with 3 Tiles all together (first player to get to 10 tiles wins. Not bad for one game!)
Scott (Orcs)- earned 2 Empire points. Used them to build a mine on a river and chose to Raid. Has 1 tile.
Greg (Bretonnia)- earned 2 Empire points. Used them to build a mine on a Mountain and chose to raid. Has 1 tile.
Nino (Dark Elves)- earned 1 Empire point. Built a mine on a Mountain. Has 1 tile.
Sal has jumped out to a early lead. The rest of us are tied at 1. But anything can happen.
With the revenue I earned (100 Gold), I purchased the following:
Assassin- bought a extra hand weapon and the gifts Touch of Death (killing blow) and ruin of Khaine (+d3 attacks) gold spent 61
My General bought the magic item Pendant of Khaeleth (gives me a kick ass ward save) gold spent, 35
That leaves me with 4 gold coins left over.
That is it for now. If you guys could let us know what you got with your gold that would be cool. Looking forward to our next meeting! BATTLE!!! Nino

Re: Mighty Empires Campaign
Well the orcs were having a green old time razing the local villages, when the squigs went nuts. Even the Orc Warlord paused from pating the stolen pig, and stood dumbfounded as the squig herders starting bowing and muttering in goblin. In a moment he saw a giant squig with a mad goblin bounce ahead of an army of giants and trolls.....
Elite army time!
Anyway with my money I got a n. goblin hero riding a giant squig with one hit wunda and a death explosion item. I also gave my black orc boss some protection in the form of a ward save.

Re: Mighty Empires Campaign
Hey!
Thanks once again Scott for hosting at your place. I really envy your awesome game room!
And of course I wouldn't be able to participate in the campaign at all without borrowing all of your stuff.
Great seeing everybody again. Was nice to dust off the ol' dice for a change. Sorry for showing up a bit late but that's about as early as I can get there on a work night.
As far as how I am going to spend my 80 gold, I am not sure yet whether I wanted to buy a new unit of zombies, bulk up my grave guard, or get some new toys for my vampire... especially now that Nino's assassin is going to be tough as nails. I actually do have the army book and it's one of my few gaming items NOT buried in storage so I'll have to take a look...

Re: Mighty Empires Campaign
by the way Scott, I know you are playing Orcs... probably can't use it for this campaign, but HAVE YOU SEEN THE NEW AZHAG THE SLAUGHTERER MODEL?? Freakin' awesome:
http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?catId=cat1380000&prodId=prod30012a
special order only apparently... 82 bucks is rather steep but there were rumours about this one a long time ago that it was going to be a forge world piece cast in resin. I guess that would have been even MORE expensive! I'm still on the fence about it, but I think I will probably end up getting one...

Re: Mighty Empires Campaign
The model is awesome, but I just cant justify 82 bucks for one model of an army I might not use a lot. I might ebay the old model. It is awesome though.

Possible "Mighty Empire's" meeting at my house on Friday, September 4th. Let me know if this works.
Re: Mighty Empires Campaign
I may be able to make it if it is late. I have to go to ym cousins wedding during the afternoon/early evening. Hopefully it doesn't drag on.

Re: Mighty Empires Campaign
Doesn't seem we have enough people for Mighty Empires on Friday 9/4. That is cancelled . However, if you would like to get in a regular Fantasy game in or Mordhiem, let me know.
Re: Mighty Empires Campaign
It seems you need multiples of two players. If not someone doesn't get a game in.
